David Bethel’s My French Book Brings Heaven Closer in French
Some music is heard with the ears. But some is felt in the soul. My French Book (Adoration Intime en Français) is not just a new release by worship leader and songwriter David Bethel. For years, David carried a quiet desire. A longing that began when he first encountered the French language during a deeply formative season of his life. That language, filled with beauty and rhythm, stirred something spiritual in him. He began to imagine what it would mean to offer worship in French. Not as a performance, but as a sacred act.
“There has always been a quiet desire in me,” David shares. “I first encountered the French language during some of the most formative seasons of my life. Ever since, I have dreamt of one day worshiping in that language. By the grace of God, that dream is beginning now.”
With the release of My French Book, that dream has come alive. The five-track EP invites listeners into moments of deep stillness and awe. Each song carries its own fragrance. One of intimacy, surrender, and reverent adoration. This is not just a collection of melodies. It is a prayer, whispered from the soul of a servant who has made himself available for God’s work in every form possible.
“This EP is a testament to a long-standing dream of expressing my love for God and the ministry in my life as a Christian,” David says. “I have wholeheartedly availed myself to the work of the ministry, and so with every ability and privilege that I have. This first French worship EP of mine is the first of many to come.”
Since the project’s release, the response has been heartfelt and humbling. Listeners from across cultures have embraced it. Many have testified that the Spirit of God is ministering to them in a language that may be unfamiliar, yet feels deeply comforting.
